Here is how I did it:
- download and compile the Linux kernel 2.6.35.9 (see https://giovanni.wordpress.com/2010/12/04/how-to-compile-the-linux-kernel/)
- download the driver from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8000292/HVR900r2_2_6_35.tar.bz2
- decompress the file
$ cd HVR900r2_2_6_35
$ make
- $ su -c “make install”
- download the drxd firmware form here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8000292/drxd-firmware.tar or here: http://kernellabs.com/firmware/drxd
- decompress the file
- copy the two files .fw to /lib/firmware
- extract the xc3028 firmware using this guide: http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Xceive_XC3028/XC2028#Firmware_Information
- copy the xc3028 firmware to /lib/firmware
- reboot
- when the computer is up and running, insert the PCTV USB device
- use Kaffeine for watching digital TV
